Cody smiled, "It really depends, but relaxing on the beach is what I love to do the best. Especially with a friend." he said, looking at where she was looking, at her hand. "Where is your favorite place to be?" he asked, hoping it would be a long answer. He wasn't quite fond of silence with awkwardness that was almost palpable.

Addy considered for a moment. I guess it depends. I love the beach. And the pound they have on 2nd Street has so many animals that need help. It's sad, but I love helping the ones I can while I'm there. Shep always makes new friends, too. Market is always fun. I like watching and meeting new people... And in the Market Square they have festivals and whatnot... That's fun. I don't really know. I haven't been out of Kaiden, ever... So I'm not experienced enough to have a favorite place, I guess. she admitted, shrugging. I'd like to see more of the world, but the opportunity hasn't presented itself. So, here I am. she said, babbling to cover her embarrassment of her lack of travel.
She pulled the food out of her bags and set it on the towel. Dig in, I suppose. she said nervoudly, daintily grabbing a piece of garlic bread for herself. She was glad Shep hadn't come. He would have wanted food... And he was trained not to beg, but those eyes... Addy wouldn't have been able to resist.

Cody smiled, "Working as a crewmember on the ship is a great way to see new places...It can also be very relaxing, when there is not too much work to be done. " he said, gazing off into the horizon. "Plus, you have an excuse not to bath a lot." Cody jested, as he took half a sandwich that looked to be filled with beef and cheese.

Addy laughed at his no bathing comment, certainly hoping it was a joke. What position did you fill on the Howl of the Blade? Addy asked, using the long name formally. Cody was like a legend to her, having grown up with stories, many probably exaggerated due to the number of people who had passed it along. Were you all really stranded on an island after a maelstorm? she asked curiously. Sorry about all the questions... I grew up with stories of the Howl at the orphanage where Captain Dagger was raised, and I keep an ear open for anything I can get about what's gone on since then... Sea life fascinates me. she explained, slightly sheepish. Hopefully he didn't mind too much, she thought absently.

Cody smiled, his pride getting the better of him, " I was first Rube's apprentice, but I became the sail maker later, I fixed anything that was ripped though, not just sails and such." he replied, his smile widening, "Those days on the island...good fun. Even though we were stuck, me and the crew managed to have a brilliant time." he replied, remembering the disaterous cakes and sandcastles he had made with Ruby.

Wow... I think that's amazing. Addy said. Ruby had always been her idol; and Cody had been her apprentice! And Addy had met Ruby, if only briefly... She shuddered happily at the thought of the woman, with two babes at her feet. She has always been an amazing figure to me... A woman doing what she wanted in life, defying her parents and following her heart to the man she loved. I don't have any parents to defy, but you know what I mean. Addy explained. She laughed sheepishly. Sorry. I guess you must get a lot of girls asking about ship life... I don't want to be one of them. she murmured, blushing in spite of herself, and looking down at the food. Then she turned her gaze back to him, drawn to his purple eyes. They were so fascinating to her. I think your eyes are gorgeous. she offered, winking.
She looked longingly at the ocean, and closed her eyes to breathe in its salty smell. The wind fluttered her hair about her face, and she sighed happily.

Cody looked down at the compliment and took another bite of his food, unable to think of a reply to the last statement. He decided to reply to the latter comment. Cody swallowed his food and replied, "No, no, hardly any girls ever talk to me." Cody laughed, realizing the statement sounded more awkward aloud. "What I mean is I never really...talk...to...people outside the...well, never mind. I'm just saying, the questions don't bother me." Cody looked out at the ocean with his new friend, "have you always lived here...in Kaiden?" He asked .
